A failure to report the relevant facts is not journalism, and encouraging readers to believe anything other than the truth is deception, pure and simple.
I really miss decent journalism. The BBC used to be a journalistic gold standard and this was incredibly important for people around the world tuning in to get objective coverage. This interview with Semenya was illustrative of how far it’s fallen and also utterly bizarre. He’s clearly a man!
I know what you mean. Not only are we forced to pay the BBC despite the poor quality of so much of their output, they are still deemed by many to be an authority on pretty much everything. So when they call Semenya a woman, for many that is case closed. It's beyond awful.

Yes, I have a good friend who spouts gender nonsense because it’s how the BBC presents the issue. Incredibly frustrating.
